About
Hi there! I’m Shakayla, a nature-loving photographer, writer, and advocate for animals based in South Carolina. My journey with animals started early—I’ve always had a soft spot for them, especially dogs. Growing up, I had five incredible chow chow mixes: Chase, Bella, Loki, Rocky, and Koda. Chase and Bella were the ones who sparked it all for me. I remember thinking about how adorable they were and wanting to share their cuteness with the world. That’s when my love for photography began.
As my passion for photography grew, I was drawn to nature photography—a way to share God's creation and connect with the world around me uncovering its peaceful beauty.
Later, I began exploring Photoshop and editing, which opened up a whole new world for me. It allowed me to express myself in creative ways and experiment with different styles of photography, blending art and storytelling.
Today, I live with my adorable (and mischievous) cat, Zane, who keeps life interesting and always makes me smile, and my husband and best friend Corey, who's pretty awesome too.
My work has become a way to combine all the things I love: animals, nature, photography, and writing. Through creativity, I aim to educate, inform, and support, using my passions to make a difference for animals and inspire others.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll often find me baking up something sweet, tending to my plants (some of which are now available for sale on my site!), or unwinding with a good game. And if it’s a quiet evening, chances are I’m curled up with a romantasy book.
Through my work, I aim to share the joy and wonder of animals and nature in a fun way while making a difference in the lives of rescue pets. Thank you for being here and supporting this mission with me!
